Carnoustie Medical Group (CMG) is a well-integrated Primary Care Team that comprises seven partners with their employed, attached and visiting personnel, caring for around 13,185 patients in Carnoustie and the surrounding area of Angus, on the East coast of Scotland twelve miles from Dundee.
We are accredited for training GP registrars (now ST3 doctors) of whom we normally have two, ST1 & 2 doctors on the Angus Vocational Training Scheme and Foundation Doctors. Medical and nursing students are also regularly attached to the Group.
With the Monifieth Medical Group, Friockheim and Arbroath Practices we are in the south locality of Angus Community Health Partnership.
We moved to our purpose built centre - Parkview Primary Care Centre - in May 2006. The building belongs to Prime UK with joint tenancy by Carnoustie Medical Group and Angus CHP. The practice accommodation consists of 11 GP consulting rooms, 5 practice nurse rooms, minor surgery, phlebotomy and eye treatment rooms. Additionally two main administration areas, reception and medical records storage are all on the ground floor. Shared facilities include the kitchen and staff room, conference room, library and staff locker/shower area.
The video below gives an introduction to what goes on behind the scenes at Carnoustie Medical Group.
The practice is open 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
We participate in the public holiday closure timetable as agreed by NHS Tayside for General Practice. Clinical services and requirements for advice during all out of hours periods are covered by NHS 24 on 111.
